Michael Mejia has been named General Manager of Martini Modern Italian, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ (CMR) newest concept. Mejia, an Upper Arlington resident, has been with CMR since 1998.
Mejia has held management positions at several CMR locations, including M, Marcella’s, Martini Italian Bistro and the formerly owned Mitchell’s Fish Market. He first served as General Manager at the formerly owned Cameron’s Steakhouse. Prior to joining Martini Modern Italian as a manager in March 2009, he served as General Manager of Marcella’s in the Short North Arts District.
“We are pleased to have someone of Michael’s caliber lead Martini Modern Italian,” said Cameron Mitchell, president and founder of CMR. “Michael brings a strong knowledge of our company and a passion for fine food and excellent service to his new position. We are fortunate to have him as a member of our team.”
Martini Modern Italian, located in the Short North Arts District, is chic, high-energy dining. The atmosphere is modern and sleek and features dark woods, white leather, stainless steel accents and crystal chandeliers. Candlelight is used extensively to complete the mood.
The restaurant features Italian favorites and handcrafted cocktails. Some items on the menu include antipasto, fresh calamari, brick oven pizzetta, Veal Martini and chicken carbonara. Guests also can enjoy a variety of specialty drinks, including Italian Grapefruit Gimlet and Short North Tea.
Mejia lives in Upper Arlington with his wife and two children. He is a certified sommelier.
